Florida Man Arrested for Possession of Marijuana

On Thursday February 14, 2020 at approximately 7:06 P.M. an officer with the Marianna Police Department conducted a traffic stop at KFC on a white Chevrolet Car for defective equipment violation.


The driver was identified as Emanuel Batson. It was then determined that Batson’s driver’s license were suspended.


While speaking with Batson, the officer observed a scale with what appeared to be green residue on the surface, lying on the driver’s seat.


This residue later field tested positive for the presence of THC.


Upon conducting a probable cause search of the vehicle, the officer located over 20 grams of green leafy substance which also field tested positive for the presence of THC.


Within the same vicinity, the officer also located several clear plastic baggies.


 Due to the items located within the vehicle which was in possession of Batson, he was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Marijuana with intent to distribute. He was transported to Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.
