On the evening of December 02, 2019 a Deputy, with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, was traveling on Thompson Road when he observed a Toyota utility vehicle failing to maintain its lane of travel. The Deputy continued to follow and observe the vehicle’s driving pattern. When the vehicle made a turn onto Fairview Road the vehicle was still unable to maintain the lane of travel. The Deputy conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle.
The Deputy approached the vehicle and while making contact with the driver, identified as Rachel Kimbell by her Florida license, an odor of intoxicating beverage was emanating from the vehicle. During the interactions Kimbell was very disoriented and had trouble complying with commands given to her. When Kimbell exited the vehicle she had to use the vehicle for support to walk. The Deputy requested Kimbell to submit to field sobriety exercises, in which she did. Based upon the Deputy’s training and experience he believed Kimbell to be under the influence of alcohol and placed Kimbell under arrest.
Once at the Jackson County Correctional Facility Kimbell provided a lawful breath sample to determine the alcohol content, which did indicate she was above the legal limit of 0.08. Kimbell was booked into the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance on her charges.
Arrested:
Rachel Lynn Kimbell, 48 years of age, Resident of Cottondale, Florida
Charges:
Driving Under the Influence (Alcohol) F.S. 316.193 (1)
