Just a quick note to the all the great people who came out to our annual Sarah Elizabeth Goree memorial gift for children.
Wow! What a success for our 12th year.
I just want to say thank you to everyone that came to Lowe’s Thursday and Friday.
Each of you waited in line, waited patiently, for all our volunteers to get the Butts and ribs off the smokers.
We also want to apologize to everyone that came up and we were sold out temporarily. This fundraiser is such an undertaking. Each year all our friends to come help each year and work hard.
And believe me they show up every year! Some that is the only time we get to really see them and enjoy and love each and everyone of them who takes time from their busy schedule to help honor our Daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Goree. Some of those helping even take vacation time from their jobs to help.
We wish we could provide our Butts and Ribs continually for the entire time but smoking food is a process that our fine grill masters take pride in. And cooking delicious boston butts and ribs takes time and patience.
So there for we do have to wait on everything to be fully cooked.
I remember 12 years ago when we started the first annual Sarah Elizabeth Goree Memorial Sale.
We cooked 300 Butts and ribs . Wow ! We were ready to get bigger!
With the huge support from a loving community, loving friends, a lot of sweat and help, BIGGER WE DID.
We average 1000 to 1200 units a cooking and that’s about as big as we can do.
It was amazing the wonderful turnout from this community that by Friday at lunch we were sold out. SOLD OUT COMPLETELY.
The entire Goree Family and friends hated we had no more boston butts and ribs to offer.
Believe me… all our volunteers and the Child Advocacy Center wish we could cook 2500 but we can’t.
There again, as Sarah Elizabeth Goree’s dad, mom, brother and sister in law, and all who come out to help, just want to thank everyone that comes out every year!
From the bottom of our hearts, you have no idea how honored we feel for each of you to join us in Honoring our daughter.
We are able to raise the funds in the Memorial Sale for the Child Advocacy Center
They need it!
We all wish our Sarah was still here. But with your help her memory lives on.
Thanks
Bill and Lisa Goree, Sarah’s parents
Seth and Erin Goree, Sarah’s brother and sister in law
GOD BLESS EACH OF YOU and ALWAYS GIVE YOUR CHILD A HUG, EACH DAY, AND SAY…
I LOVE YOU
