SPECIAL NOTICE

EFFECTIVE MONDAY, MARCH 23, 2020– APRIL 5, 2020 (unless extended)

The Geneva County Commission has joined the State and Federal Government in declaring an emergency due to COVID-19. Out of respect and protection of both our citizens and employees, the Geneva County Commission hereby directs that all county offices be closed to the public effective the above referenced dates. Our employees will continue to work, however business will be conducted for each department in the following manner:

PROBATE

TAGS-Renew your tag online at www.genevacountyal.gov under departments select the probate tab, then the tag renewal icon. by mail at PO Box 430 Geneva, AL 36340, or by phone at 334-684-5644, 5645, 5643, 5642. If paying on-line and you do not have your mail-in card for your record number, please contact our office and we will assist you. If paying by phone you will need to provide a debit/credit card number. The $5.00 tag mail- in fee is waived until April 30, 2020. Also, no penalties for March renewals until after April 15, 2020.

RECORDING-Please mail all documents for recording to P.O. Box 430 Geneva, AL 36340. Call 334-684-5647 for any questions regarding recording.

PROBATE COURT- As directed by the Alabama Supreme Court- effective immediately through April 16, 2020 all in-person proceedings with the exception of proceedings related to emergency mental health orders and proceedings related to the protection of elderly or vulnerable persons are hereby cancelled. All in-person proceedings will be continued to a later date. Please contact your attorney for any questions involving your case.

DRIVERS LICENSE RENEWAL- You may renew your drivers license on-line once every eight years provided there are no changes to be made. Visit www.genevacountyal.gov click the probate, tab scroll to the bottom of the page to quick links and select the driver’s license-online renewal link.

HUNTING AND FISHING LICENSE- purchase online at www.outdooralabama.com

BOAT/VESSEL REGISTRATION- Visit www.alea.gov scroll to bottom of page and select the view all online services link

REVENUE/APPRAISAL

Ø TAXES- Delinquent property payments can be paid by mail with CERTIFIED FUNDS ONLY. Payment can only be accepted by cashier’s check or money order. Payments can be mailed to PO BOX 326 Geneva AL 36340. Delinquent accounts will be listed in the Geneva County Reaper and online at www.genevacountyal.gov under the Revenue tab.

Ø Please call the Revenue Office at 334-684-5650, 5651 for any question and prior to mailing certified funds as additional fees may apply. (example- fire fee)

SOLID WASTE

PAYMENTS- Payments can be made by mail at PO Box 430 Geneva, AL 36340, by phone at 334-684-5685 or online at www.genevacountyal.gov . Under the departments tab select Solid Waste, at bottom of the page under Links, select pay your bill online.

NEW SERVICE- Contact the Solid Waste Office for procedures at 334-684-5685

ROAD AND BRIDGE

WORK ORDERS- Work orders may be called in by phone at 334-684-3450, by email @ [email protected] or by Facebook at the Geneva County Alabama Road and Bridge Facebook Page.

BOARD OF REGISTRARS

VOTER REGISTRATION-To register to vote or update your voter information please visit www.alabamavotes.gov and find the voter registration tab. For additional information call 334-684-5655.

SHERIFFS DEPT

EMERGENCIES/ASSISTANCE- dial 911 for all emergencies, for all other calls dial 334-684-5662, 5663, 5664

OFFENSE REPORTS- mail a self-addressed stamped envelope with your request to PO Box 115 Geneva, AL 36340.

PISTOL PERMITS-mail a self-addressed stamped envelope to PO Box 115 Geneva, AL 36340. Include payment of $20.00 to Pistol Permit Fund- also enclose your current pistol permit.

DISTRICT ATTORNEYS OFFICE
