HEADLAND - KINSEY:    More than 16 years ago then Kinsey Mayor Austin McArdle negotiated a deal with the City of Headland for mutual aid assistance.

The agreements were for Kinsey Volunteer Fire Department to respond mutual aid assistance to Headland and assist their fire department with Headland Fire responding into Kinsey to assist Kinsey Volunteer Fire Department.

In addition then Kinsey Mayor McArdle and the City of Headland ( do not know who was in office in Headland at that time ) agreed for Headland EMS to respond to Kinsey for medical calls and trauma calls in Kinsey.

Today Headland EMS responded to Kinsey, Highway 431, to a motorcycle wreck.

Last Saturday night/Sunday morning, at about 2 AM, Headland EMS responded to Kinsey to a firearm assault call in Kinsey. In less then 40 minutes Headland EMS had to respond to a medical emergency in Kinsey, a possible heart attack.

Last year, 2019,  Headland EMS responded to 201 medical and trauma calls in Kinsey - Houston County. The middle of September 2020, Headland EMS responded to about 173 medical and trauma EMS calls in Kinsey - Houston County.

On November 3rd the registered voters will have the opportunity to vote on an amendment. The question does not explain what the funding is. That was due to COVID hitting during the legislative session and all of the checks and balances were not in place and the wording was not noticed as to how worded on the ballot.

The question is DO YOU FAVOR THE ADOPTION OF ACT 2020 - 191 OF THE 2020 SESSION OF THE ALABAMA LEGISLATURE?  You are asked by the responders to over 16,000 emergency medical and trauma calls in Houston County to vote YES.

This will provide funding ear marked for EMS. It will place a $ 5.00 fee on car license plates and will be used for patient care only. That patient care will be medical supplies, medical equipment, heart monitors, fuel, labor and etc... for quality patient care.

The money CAN NOT be used for buildings or maintenance of buildings. Only patient care. And the politicians can not use this money. It is to provide EMS direct patient care in equipment, supplies and provider salaries.

Medical and trauma emergencies do not pick their victims or make appointments. EMS funding is never been sustained and the help is needed.
