HEADLAND — A Headland man is facing three charges after over an hour-long standoff on Hollon Street in Headland that ended peacefully Monday evening.

Rory Cole facing unlawful possession of an altered firearm since the serial number was peeled off, third-degree domestic violence, and obstructing police operations,” Headland Police Commander Bill Knight said.

Cole had got into a domestic argument with his mother, and then ran out of the house firing a .380 pistol up into the air about 8 times before barricading himself in a neighboring house.

Police say they are thankful for agencies working together to end the standoff peacefully because those scenes are rare for headland.

Cole is in the Henry County Jail on a $25,000 bond.
