The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office held their annual Junior Deputy Camp this week. 61 kids attended and learned about fingerprinting, police helicopters, police K9’s, firearm safety with Eddie the Eagle.
They also got to learn about firefighting, what a paramedic/EMT does, they also got to learn about the dangers of driving under the influence by driving the DUI go cart, storm prepardness, and they learned what dispatchers do.
In addition to learning different aspects of First Responders they enjoyed games, the waterslide and devotion time with Northside Assembly staff. At the end of camp, they each received a certificate and a junior deputy badge, and they all took the junior deputy oath.
Sheriff Tate would like to thank the following people for their participation in this year’s camp. The Bay County Sheriff’s Office, Holmes Correctional K9 Unit, Bonifay Fire and Rescue, Holmes County EMS, T and S Inflatable Slides, The Children’s Advocacy Center, Emergency Managment.
A special thanks to Pastor Ed Bell and Northside Assembly of God Volunteers, and last but certainly not least the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office SRO’s. We all are looking forward to next year.
