Honoring The Men and Women Who Are The Public Servants

HOUSTON COUNTY: This evening the Houston County Volunteer Fire Association under the direction of Dothan-Houston County Emergency Management Director Chris Judah, and the Houston County Volunteer EMS Association under the direction of Captain Daniel Forrester, and Houston County Rescue Unit joined hands for CHRISTMAS IN JANUARY.

This year some avid fisherman such as Bobby Clemmons, Sgt. Rick Clemmons of Houston County Sheriff Department, Dothan Police Captain Will Glover, Jay Henry, Hugh and Mary Peacock from Columbia on River Road, and others caught the fish and helped prepapre all of the meals for tonight.

Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza who supports these men and women was out of town.

The meal was in appreciation for the men and women who donate their time, energy and personal in order save lives and property across Houston County.

Tonight some featured persons recognized were Jimmy Posey who has had 50 years between Ashford Volunteer EMS and Ashford Volunteer Fire, Roger Nall who has had 48 years between Ashford Volunteer EMS, Ashford Volunteer Fire and now Cowarts Volunteer Fire, and Larry Givens for 30 years with Pansey Volunteer Fire.

All three of these men are still actively involved rolling to scenes. Along with each of them their wives and children roll with them and involved. Posey, Nall and Givens children make calls every day donating their times and energies.

Chief Posey wife, Deloris was the first female fire figher who was certified in this county. Each of these ladies have held the hands of families are their homes burned to the ground, consoled the families of victims involved in accidents, and were the shoulders parents, husbands, wives and children restedt their heads on as they cried their eyes are because they loved ones lives were taken and they were deceased.

The ones described and hundreds like them are truly heros who are the definitition of service above self.

Bobby Clemmons is a past Director of Dothan-Houston County Emergency Management. Never believing that Emergency Manangement was only a resources, Clemmons felt Emergency Management is a responder. Today Chris Judah is Dothan-Houston County Emergency Mannagement Director who also believes that Dothan-Houston County Emergency Management is a responder and not just a resource.

During Clemmons tenue and Judah's tenure, they believe in standing shoulder to shoulder with the men and women who give of their time to save the lives of others.

Tonight, there was a great attendance of those who serve.

And yes, with election 2022 being this years, some of those running maggots appeared acting as if they support these men and women. And several incumbent maggots like Ricky Herring and Brandon Shoupe only support them to get re-elected. Herring only appears when food is present.

Those like Commissioner Doug Sinquefield show up with his sleeves rolled up and ready to work.

So do not let appearance of election maggots such as Ricky Herring and Brandon Shoupe give the appearnace they support.
