HOUSTON COUNTY: Members of the Houston County Volunteer Fire Association and Dothan-Houston County Emergency Management Director Chris Judah were on hand for training this evening.
The volunteers donate their time each month to attend training at the Wiregrass Training Center. Some nights “hands on” training in different scene tips and sometimes classroom training.
Tonight Headland Fire Chief Tony Wilkinson gives classroom instruction on topics such as CONDITIONS DURING A FIRE IN A TYPE 1 STRUCTURE.
The training makes those responding to calls throughout the area of Houston County better in training to serve the community.
The Houston County Fire and EMS are dispatched to 55% of the calls Dothan Fire are dispatched to. While the majority of the calls are medical, both the fire and EMS are team partners assisting each other in the mission of saving lives.
