HOUSTON - HENRY COUNTY: In January 2023 Henry County will have a new Sheriff for the first time in 16 years. Henry County Sheriff Will Maddox will retire and Eric Blankenship will take over the reigns of Henry County Sheriff.
The registered voters of Henry County had two good candidates to select from on November 8, being Eric Blankenship and Noel Vanlandingham.
Just a few minutes ago I heard Noel Vanlandingham on the radio. As he is and was before the election a Houston County Sheriff Deputy. And I was thinking that Houston County also won with Vanlandingham not moving to the next step as Henry County Sheriff.
Noel Vanlandingham is and has been doing a fantastic job during his tenure with Houston County Sheriff Department. He hits his shift working, being proactive and not reactive, responding to calls, never complaining about the workload or activity he is assigned.
“YOU CAN BE A WINNER TOO”, a slogan from the late Milton McGregor. That applies to the citizens and guests of Houston County. We were a winner too in the Henry County election. As we kept Noel Vanlandingham who is a great asset to the Houston County Sheriff Department.
With that said, there is nothing critical of Henry County Sheriff Elect Eric Blankenship. The citizens of Henry County made their choice and they have selected a professional who will serve the citizens well as Henry County Sheriff.
