According to WDHN: After Andrea Flagg completed serving a sentence on an unrelated charge, prison officials allegedly did not realize he should have been returned to Dothan for another trial.


He reportedly still had charges for the shooting of James Gillard in 2015.


“He was at the Department of Corrections on two cases, and at the time the Court of Criminal Appeals reversed and remanded one of those cases,” Houston County Circuit Clerk Carla Woodall said. “Then, he was reclassified as a county inmate, but he was also a state inmate for a charge he had been convicted of.”


The office immediately notified the DOC that the reverse and remand had been issued by the Court of Criminal Appeals, and they recalled the transcript.
