HOUSTON COUNTY:    In unfortunate situations this evening the unity and professional response of those who volunteer their time and are paid for their time was displayed.

Anyone who knows me is aware of my passion for emergency services. I am dedicated to and make zero apologies to anyone that I expect a certain level of service when someone dials 911.

Tonight, on the eastside of Houston County, the dedication, the unity, the training of those who volunteer their time and those paid for their time, came together for the single goal of giving all they had to save lives.

The outcome of one was not what anyone of the emergency service responders wanted because one person did not survive the injuries of the wreck. But it was  not because the volunteers and those paid did not give it a fight to save the man's life.

I'M PROUD TO BE A PART OF THE HOUSTON COUNTY EMERGENCY NETWORK.

It is my passion that all system's are on go when a person dials 911. And the wheels roll to respond to that need.

ON NOVEMBER 3

The Houston County registered voters are asked to vote YES, "do you favor the adoption of Act 2020-191"?

This will provide much needed funding for Emergency Medical Services in all 587 square miles of Houston County. The EMS units respond to over 16,000 medical and trauma emergencies a year in all 587 square miles of Houston County.

Tonight, two major examples on the east side of Houston County while at the same time on the northside two trauma injuries in a motorcycle accident in the city limits of Dothan.

None of these trauma patients scheduled to have trauma. But when 911 calls hit, all systems were on go.

Some are already saying this will not pass because of the wording. And none of the emergency service responders like the wording. But the legislation requires the money to be used for patient care equipment, supplies, ambulances and provider pay. None can be used to construct buildings or maintenance of the buildings.

This funding is crucial in the effort to save lives.

I'M PROUD TO BE A PART OF THE HOUSTON COUNTY EMERGENCY NETWORK.

So I am very passionate about emergency services and those who are in it as a volunteer and paid. And I am passionate about those who call 911 and need emergency services.

There are major issues within EMS as to funding. And this is crucial that the message to vote YES on The Houston County registered voters are asked to vote YES, "do you favor the adoption of Act 2020-191"?

Lives depend on it.
