It Is Officially Black Friday - Encourage You To Shop Locally

ALL OVER:    This article is not specific to any certain city or town, but in general, all over.


Black Friday is "officially" here. While I have avoided places, my guess there are people already in line at some places. Since last evening I have heard Dothan Police at the two Walmarts Protecting them as they closed for Thanksgiving. I know Lowe's opens at 6 AM.


While I am not bashing the big box stores, please let me encourage you to shop locally.


To the giant corporate stores, as an employee the home corporation just considers you a number. But to the local businesses, you are considered a person, a person with a family to feed.


When the ball teams play and need donations, how many times do you see the big box stores donating to help or sponsoring ball teams? But you see the local businesses supporting the ball teams.


Whether it is a new car from Mercedes of Dothan, Hyundai of Dothan, Solomon Motor Company, Giland Chevrolet - GMC - Ford, Bondy's Nissan, a Royal Boat from Action Marine, these are the people who support our local youth in sports, and know you as a person not as corporate  knows you as an employee number.


Be creative this year in your gifts. Give gifts cards for the hair stylist of their choice, gift certificates for the restaurant of their choice such as Hunt's, Big Mike's, Ray's Restaurant, Charlotte's Restaurant, Mary's Hot Dogs in Ashford and Midland City.


A set of new car tires from Scott Stephens or in Headland from the Parker's.


In Ashford at the Courtyard, some great gifts your wife, girlfriend or daughter would love to have. In Ashford, shop at The River Birch - Embroidery and More.


Purchase  a Harley or Sea Doo from Holland Motorsports in Dothan. Some plants from Dothan Nurseries. Some floor covering from Hardwick Interriors.


Local People stay in the community. They are here to support the community and spend their profits locally. So shop locally for this Christmas. Our local business community needs your business.
