On Tuesday, June 11, 2019, a Deputy with the Field Services Division responded to 2070 Hwy 71, in reference to a verbal disturbance. A concerned citizen had contacted JCSO after observing a male subject had yelling at his female companion. Prior to the Deputy's arrival, JCSO Dispatchers had been able to identify the male subject as Samuel Odell Jones, wanted out of Clay County for Violation of Probation. Jones departed the area on a green in color Ford sedan.
?The Deputy arrived on scene and while conducting a BOLO of the surrounding area, Jones was observed in front of a green sedan, in a nearby parking lot. As the Deputy approached, Jones walked to a silver SUV, placing his hand inside. Moments later suspected narcotics were thrown from the SUV and the driver began to argue with Jones. Jones was detained by the responding Deputy and a male subject, Alvin Williams, claimed to have been witness to the exchange between Jones and the driver. The responding Deputy was able to determine that Williams was actually an occupant of Jones' vehicle (green sedan) and Jones had no affiliations with the driver of the SUV. The Deputy made contact with another occupant of the green Sedan, Krista Bole, and the odor of marijuana was observed to be emanating from the interior of the vehicle. Bole also had also attempted to discard a cut straw with suspected narcotics residue, underneath the Deputy's vehicle.
?A probable cause search was conducted and within the contents of the vehicle, the Deputy located several items consistent with sale and use of narcotics, along with suspected marijuana, crack cocaine, powdered cocaine, methamphetamine, and MDMA (molly). Field tests of the substances did yield presumptive positive results. A stolen firearm was also located and after a thorough investigation the Deputy was able to determine that Williams, Jones, and Bole all had knowledge of the contents of the vehicle. Williams was also determined to have given the Deputy false information with the intent to interfere with the Deputies investigation. Jones and Bole were confirmed by JCSO Dispatch to have prior felony convictions. Jones, Bole, and Williams were all placed under arrest and transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.
