K-9 Unit Locates Escapee in Graceville

JACKSON COUNTY :On Tuesday, Nov. 15, around 5:30 p.m., deputies responded to Graceville to assist the Graceville Police Department. Graceville PD had responded to a disturbance at a home on Pelham Avenue, where they arrested Deonte Bellamy for Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, as well as a warrant out of Washington County.


After Bellamy was arrested and handcuffed, he managed to escape custody and fled on foot. The JCSO K-9 Tracking Unit was called to the scene and located Bellamy in less than 30 minutes. Bellamy was taken into custody and turned over to Graceville PD.



Bellamy is being charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon Without Intent to Kill, Escape, Larceny – Law Enforcement Officer Equipment, and Obstruction Without Violence.
