DOTHAN:    It was a special day for the children of Kelly Springs Elementary School in Dothan. It was kite day.

But some thugs spoiled the day for the kids.

Shots were fired in the "proximity" of the school and not "at" the school. But because in the proximity protocol was to place the kids back into the school and lock the school down.

Dothan Police Officers were on the scene quickly and made sure the children were protected.

But the white vehicle that was reported to have fired the shots spoiled the children's fun and excitement and turned the day into fear.

Anytime something happens "near" a school it is normal protocol to lock the school down for safety and security.

Dothan Police Chief Steve Parrish does not take this lightly at all. And it is protocol for officers to immediately get to the nearest schools and place them on lock down.

IF I WAS A LEADER - I WOULD LITERALLY HANG MY HEAD IN SHAME...

I am not a leader. In fact, I am probably considered pretty dumb and stupid. But those who consider me that are those in power of which have been proven to pretty dumb and stupid.

Here is my point; take the courthouses in the State of Alabama, take the Alabama Legislature, Alabama Governor's Office, Attorney General's Office, Governor's Mansion...shall I keep on?

Look at tall the security they have.

But our most "precious and treasured resources", our children, we do not guard like we do the adults.

And if I was an adult leader in one of these facilities that had the protection, the Governor down, until the children of the schools across this state were protected I would refuse the security.

If I were in the courthouse, I would demand the security be removed and placed in the schools. If were in the Alabama Legislature I would demand the children be protected before I was.

So when all of these "so called" leaders say they want to "do it for the children" and they want to "protect the children"...the proof is in the reality. They protect themselves and not the children.

Now Dothan Police Chief Steve Parrish has developed a plan. Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza has a plan. But all schools are not protected as they should be. The reason is the selfish leaders who want themselves protected.  And it begins at the top with "ol Kay down, to include and not limited to the courthouse, commission meetings, legislature, Supreme Court, and I keep on counting.

And when they say they do not have enough officers.

The Executive Director of APOST, Alan Bennefield and his board have proven them a liar. The State of Alabama has enough officers and do not need anymore. Because their actions prove Alabama does not need anymore officers.

Really...it is time for Alan and some of his board to move to the pasture and retire with the other donkey's. Because really, Alabama does need more officers. It is just Alan has over stayed his usefulness.
