Marianna Man Arrested on Drug Charges

POPLAR SPRINGS - On May 27th, deputies with the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop on a sports bike near the intersection of Hwy 173 and Hwy 2. Contact was made with the driver, identified as Michael Baxter of Marianna.


During the stop, it was determined that Baxter had a valid driver’s license but did not have a motorcycle endorsement. Due to a previous aggravated assault charge, deputies obtained consent from Baxter to search his person. The search produced a glass pipe containing methamphetamine.



Michael Baxter was arrested and transported to the Holmes County Jail. He is charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia
