"To get started, let’s acknowledge the fact that we are all accountable for our actions. Yes, as a backstep firefighter, I am accountable for my actions, my behavior, and my preparedness to do my job. Recently I have been promoted to captain, and now I have a higher level of accountability when it comes to our company. My battalion chief has a higher level of accountability when it comes to our shift, and my fire chief has an even higher level of accountability when it comes to our organization. However, the foundation of accountability of any organization lies in each individual regardless of rank, title, or position."

- Quote From Fire News

MAYORS OF NEWTON, PINCKARD, MIDLAND CITY,

NAPIER FIELD and GRIMES

Read the above statement over and over and over and over

THEN, Dale County Commission take immediate action !

DALE COUNTY:    This past Tuesday the Mayors of Newton, Pinckard, Midland City appeared before the Dale County Commission. Not sure if Napier Field Mayor and Grimes Mayor were present but the Pinckard - Newton and Midland Mayors appeared to speaking for all 5 Mayors.

The 5 Mayors have been meeting since the tag fee was imposed for EMS. They had their Municipal Attorney form a non profit corporation SOUTH DALE EMS.

They have ideas but no formal written business plan, no financial plan other than the       $ 5.00 tag fee of what each municipality will contribute to the 5 municipalities banding together for one EMS.

The Dale County Commission gave them 30 days to get up and running or the County Commission was going to make the decisions.

First - Only 25 days left.

Since the Tuesday meeting, UNCONFIRMED, but the Grimes Mayor is reported to have resigned. The Grimes City Council has said WAIT on Grimes participating in the 5 Mayors plans.

The Pinckard Town Council has questioned the Mayor and not real excited about the plan. The Pinckard Town Council has not given Mayor Borland the green light.

ECHO EMS has offered to take the call volume. For over 22 years ECHO EMS has been up and running. They are now 24/7 staffed. Even plans to put a ambulance in the response area of the 5 towns. In fact the Dale County Commission gave to ECHO EMS and Ozark EMS the money for the South end of Dale County. They have been making the runs along with Wicksburg Fire - EMS and sometimes Pilcher Ambulance.

There is no way these 5 Mayor can get up and running. And they are going to jeopardize the 24/7 coverage ECHO EMS can give the entire south end of Dale County if they open and take that run volume. But joining what already exists with some tweaks will begin what the south end has been without, EMS coverage.

The Mayors have no clue what it takes to get into and manage the EMS Service.

Last night minutes before midnight, a serious critical motor vehicle accident came out in Dale County on Highway 231 in Pinckard. A semi verses a truck. That accident and other medical emergencies are not waiting on the 5 Mayors bureaucracy to make a decision.

We are not talking about the purchase of a garbage truck. We are talking about people's lives. And it could be one of you procrastinating about the decision.

Based on what I have seen and witnessed, the problems for the Ozark - Dale County 911 Center, the Dale County Commission needs to (1) call a special meeting (2) rescind the 30 days given (3) engage with ECHO EMS and give them at least a 60 month guarantee on the $ 5.00 fee for the south end of Dale County.

The 5 Mayors are now playing with people's lives. And no one makes an appointment to have a wreck, stop breathing, have a stroke. Minutes costs lives. You gave the 5 Mayors 43,200 minutes to get up and running. They have now wasted 7,200 of those minutes.

With each click of a minute could mean someone else dies.

Dale County Commission, you have done a great job in making the funding available. You have given the 5 Mayors time. It ain't gonna happen. The people will support you because their lives depend on it.

It is not the fault of Dale County Commissions the procrastination. But time for big boy pants and tell them, sorry. You will not let someone else die under your watch.

Also Midland City Mayor and Town Council, your time has expired...close your dispatch and move under Ozark - Dale County 911.
