MIDLAND CITY:    Midland City Police Chief Jimmy Singleton is seeking applications for part time and full time law enforcement officers.

Applications can be obtained from Midland City Police Department.

As we have stated before , law enforcement is a rewarding, and yes a dangerous job. But it comes with rewards in opportunities to help people while they are in need.

The rewards might be helping a dementia patient find their way home. It might be comforting a small child who has been in a wreck while EMS is treating their parents. It might be unlocking the door of a car where the child locked themselves in the vehicle.

The rewards might be bending down to speak to a child and make them have a positive impression of law enforcement officers.

YOU KNOW parents often times will tell a child who is misbehaving  they will have that officer get them. That makes me furious and if you are one of those parents that tells your child that, SHAME ON YOU. Perhaps you are not realizing it but you are teaching your child to be afraid of law enforcement officers.

Thus comes hatred and lack of trust.

Law Enforcement Officers ( I realize some think they are hot to trot with the badge ) are people's friends. They are there to help and enforce the law.

So the job of a law enforcement officer is rewarding.
