DOTHAN:    This year marked the 21st consecutive year that Moma Tina's Mission House has served meals to those in need.

Their mission is that no one goes hungry. And most especially on Thanksgiving.

However year 21 was a sad year because the lady that drives the train, Moma Tina, was sick. This is the first year of the 21 consecutive years she has ever missed.

Moma Tina's Mission House was purchased by her son, Kenny Sharpton Glasgow, with the help of many friends and business people in the community. And Kenny honored his mother and named it after her.

And with every good mother comes the authority to make it run they way she wants it to run. So while Kenny "thinks" he is the boss, everyone knows that Moma Tina really runs the show.

With Moma Tina sick this year, the family and friends stepped it up many steps and came together. They served 800 meals of Thanksgiving food and all of the fixings. With the help of Kenny's wife, daughter, officials, people from all walks of life, who come together each year to serve others.

Moma Tina, we wish you GODSPEED in getting to feeling better.

Kenny Sharpton Glasgow, your wife, daughter and entire family, to all of the volunteers who rolled up their sleeves and worked or donated to make it a reality, THANK YOU for the definition of THANKSGIVING. Being thankful for what we have, and being thankful for the great opportunity to help others.

You know, Kenny spoke about the number of suicide attempts in this community. And it is people hurting in life. Many hurt for different reasons. And some of those reasons are they feel no one cares.

Kenny spoke that Moma Tina's Mission is to let people know they are cared for, that someone really does care for them, and cares enough that they do not go hungry.

Moma Tina's Mission House does not just operate on Thanksgiving, but operates daily to make sure no one goes hungry. And Kenny say's his mother, himself, his wife, daughter and entire team wants every one to know that someone cares about them.

Moma Tina thanks all who helped and was sad she could not be there today. But glad everyone pitched in and made it a go.
