Newton Police Arrested Man For Attempt To Commit Murder - Victim Is His Brother

NEWTON:    Newton Police Chief Eric Duhaime has confirmed that Newton Police Department has arrested a man for Domestic Violence and placed him in the Dale County Jail.

Chief Duhaime said Newton Police was alerted by the Emergency Department of Flowers Hospital after a patient was presented to the Emergency Room with severe injuries from what appeared to be a fight. The person is believed to have arrived by family in private auto.

Chief Duhaime and the Dale County Sheriff Department, along with District Attorney Kirke Adams conducted a thorough investigation into the details and circumstances. The victim is currently in the Intensive Care Unit of Flowers Hospital in severe condition.

The initial investigation reveals two brothers got into an altercation. All of the details and circumstances of what initiated the altercation are not released pending additional investigation and statements. 

Chief Duhaime said that Charles Stephen Senn of Newton has been placed in the Dale County Jail. The offense is Attempt To Committ Murder and currently Senn has no bond. He will have a first appearance before Dale County District Court Judge Stan Garner sometime today.

The incident occurred at 44 Watson Street in Newton.

Chief Duhaime thanked Dale County Sheriff Wally Olson and members of the Dale County Sheriff Department and District Attorney Kirke Adams for their assistance in the joint investigation.

More charges could be forthcoming on Senn. The victim is Senn's brother.
