OKALOOSA COUNTY:A 14-year old former Davidson Middle School student has been charged with making an electronic threat of a mass shooting/terrorist act.
Tayten Richard Cady, an Okaloosa online student, was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon at his home. A School Resource Officer at Davidson Middle School received information from a student that an unknown number sent an electronic message threatening to blow up the school.
Deputies determined the number belonged to Cady. During an interview, Cady told deputies he made the threat as a joke. The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office has a zero-tolerance policy for individuals making school threats. Making a written or electronic threat of a mass shooting or terrorist act is a second-degree felony.
