WASHINGTON COUNTY, FL; An Oklahoma resident is in custody in Washington County today on methamphetamine charges.

On June 13th, at approximately 8 p.m. deputies with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office are dispatched to State Rd. 90 and New Prospect Road in reference to a suspicious person. Dispatch advised that a female subject was entering the roadway and attempting to stop traffic.

Upon arrival deputies witness a female sitting in the ditch and another standing talking with her. Deputies make contact with one of the females who informs LEO’s that she pulled over to the side of the road to assist. Deputies speak with the other female identified as, Trina Belle Crandall, 42 from Inola, OK. Crandall acting very paranoid and not very coherent, states that she is afraid of her husband who was attempting to run her over. Deputies make contact with Crandall’s husband. Her husband states as they were traveling down the road, Crandall opened the door and tried exiting the vehicle. He then stopped the vehicle; Crandall exited and began running.

Crandall told deputies that “he has a bomb in the truck” and when deputies asked if she was under the influence of narcotics, she states that her husband was. Crandall also admitted to being under the influence of methamphetamine and held up a metal container which contained methamphetamine. Crandall appeared to be agitated and began walking away from deputies. Crandall was asked not to leave. Deputies attempted to detain Crandall for possession of methamphetamine.

Crandall was arrested after a short foot race and brief struggle and was transported to the Washington County Jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine and resisting an officer without violence.

After a subsequent search of the vehicle, a bomb was not located as Crandall had stated. Deputies also did not witness Crandall’s husband to be under the influence of narcotics. He was released from the scene.
