DOTHAN:    11:28 PM    The 12th annual Sarah Elizabeth Goree Boston Butt and Rib Sale for the Child Advocacy Center ... well the cooking has started, today.

Tonight I visited Lowe's Southside to check in. The dedicated group of men and women who each year volunteer their time and energy to help were on hand working.

It takes about nine hours per cooking. They have abnout 12 smokers set up in front of Lowe's. They are cooking through the night and will begin selling at 8 AM.

The prices are, $ 35 for boston butts and $ 30 for ribs. And let me tell you, they are delcisious. When our daughter got married we got Bill and Seth Goree to cook the boston butts for her wedding reception.

SARAH ELIZABETH GOREE, a beautiful young lady who was attending Dothan High School. On a Friday night GOD took her as an angel to join HIM in heaven.

The Goree's wanted to do something to honor and remember Sarah. And Sarah was a loving person with many friends.

The family and friends decided on the Child Advocacy Center of Southeast Alabama. And for 12 consecutive years, through the help of those who knew and loved Sarah, and those who never had the honor and privilege of knowing Sarah but know her parents, Bill and Lisa Goree, her brother and sister in law, Seth and Erin Goree, through their love for the family get out and help with this annual fundraiser for a worthy cause.

But each feel like the knew Sarah because of the loving stories they have heard about her.

But all of the people you see helping is because of the love for Sarah, and the love and friendship for her family.

BEGINS Thursday at 8 AM and is scheduled to run through Saturday. But there is an OR there. The OR is until the last butts and ribs are sold.

And let me tell you, they will not last long and are delicious.
