UNITED STATES OF AMERICA:    It was 18 years ago today the attack on the United States of America soil in several different fronts.

That morning I was doing TALK RADIO on AM 1450. Near the end of the 7 AM hour things begin to unfold. As I left the station for the 8 AM to 9 AM hour that “ CHAT WITH CHESTER “ hour with Larry McKee was beginning.

At my office watching the networks and things unfold it was clear the United States of America was under attack.

The video footage of President George Bush reading to a class of children in Florida. He was informed but you saw the President calm in front of the children. It was not long the President was boarded on Air Force One with fighter jets having him under guard and he was flown to a unknown location. But one thing was evident, George Bush was in command and handling things with calmness.

One thing I learned, GOD has the right people in the right places when needed. The President of the United States of America, The Vice President of the United States of America, the Mayor of New York City, all proven leaders who kept chaos under control as much as it could be under control.

Last night Kevin Dixon who attends Cottonwood High School wrote in the Cottonwood Rescue CREW app the following “ just wanted to give ya’ll a quick thank you for serving your community!!! Tomorrow ( written last night ) is a day we should honor you all for dedicating your life to public service and safety, as well as remember them 8 paramedics 343 firefighters and 60 0fficers killed!! Thank you all.”

Kevin was raised in the fire service with his grandparents, Parents and entire family in Lovetown. Myself and Dothan-Houston County Emergency Management Director Chris Judah had the honor and distinct pleasure of being invited to Union Hill Baptist Church when Kevin was baptized. While age prevents him from fighting the fire Kevin can handle all aspects of fire fighting better then seasoned fireman. He also is Chaplin for Cottonwood Rescue and you will see him walking the walk as he interacts with the EMS crews and public. And always sending encouragement in the app.

But Kevin, who was not born when 9/11 occured, recognizes the sacrifice of the over 400 emergency resporders of fire - EMS and law enforcement. He recognizes what is done in order to save lives and what each one sarifices in order to serve others in saving of lives and property.

A lot of people lost their life on 9/11 on United States soil. That one day changed America forever.

THANKS to all who serve. Your service does not matter if you are paid or volunteer, you are side by side of each other when someone is in need.

It is my distinct honor and privilege to have been side by side with each of you for 43 years. Seeing lives saved, changed or ministering is what is my motivation. And no matter what role I am in, I hope that I never loose that desire to serve others and my prayer is that I never let the critical threats of those in power deter me from my desire to serve others when sudden unexpected circumstances thrust them into the need of emergency help.

First I give HONOR AND RESPECT to GOD for allowing me to be in a position of service on several fronts. That HE has allowed me to serve as one grain of sand in the entire sand on the beach to be in a position of service to others. An awesome feeling you played some role in GOD’S master plan.

Also it is a great honor and privilege to be shoulder to showler beside law enforcement, fire, EMS, utilities as they served those in need.

If anyone of the emergency responders who lost their life could talk to you today, they would probably say, serving is what they strived for and they were willing to give their life to save others.
