DOTHAN:    On or about April 19, 2019 Dothan Mayor Mark Saliba and the members of the City of Dothan Commission entered into an agreement to employ Kevin Cowper as City Manager.


The agreed upon compensation for Kevin Cowper is $ 190,000.00 annually plus all insurance,           $ 1,250.00 a month for six months housing allowance, Premium Life Insurance in the amount of        $ 250,000.00, Long Term Disability in the amount of $ 114,000.00, one full transport load of furniture to move to Dothan. 


A job announcement has now been posted by the City of Dothan for Assistant City Manager. The salary range $ 126,131.20 to $ 192,046.40. Will include excellent salary benefits to include health and dental, voluntary insurance and retirement benefits. The City of Dothan will pay reasonable and customary moving expenses if applicable and the Assistant City Manager is required to live within the city limits of Dothan within 6 months.


DOTHAN POLICE OFFICER   - The study that Dothan was told on December 31, 2018 was conducted but now they are having to conduct a study. Well the great City of Dothan is advertising for police officers at a salary of $ 37,689.60. A great chance to get shot at and wounded, killed, hurt, arrested because of the split second decision you were confronted with. 


The City Manager, for only $ 152,310.40 a year more has to keep 4 politicians ( called Mayor and/or Commissioners ) happy. As a police officer you have to keep everyone happy, fight, get shot, possibility of getting killed for only  $ 152,310.04 less than the City Manager.


BUT THERE IS MORE -  if you want to be the City of Dothan recreation and playtime leader, Leisure Services Director, the City of Dothan is now taking applications for that position. The salary range is   $ 93,745.62 a year to $ 142, 729.60. In this position you get play in sand boxes, play tennis, play on softball fields and have fun. You do have to keep unreasonable parents happy though, But they are easier then dodging gunfire you have to do as a police officer.


This police officer starts at $ 105,040.00 less than the Leisure Services Director.


One day w will find out the compensations that Dothan "did in December" or is "doing now".
