Pensacola Man Arrested for Trafficking

BAY COUNTY :On January 26, 2022, the Bay County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Division conducted a narcotics operation at 3908 Thomas Drive in Panama City Beach. While doing so, a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle from the Pensacola area.
Contact was made with the occupants of the vehicle. A clear white substance, believed by investigators to be methamphetamine, was seen on the driver’s floorboard. The occupants were detained, and investigators deployed a narcotic detection K-9. After a free air sweep around the vehicle, the K-9 alerted to the presence of the odor of illegal narcotics.
Investigators conducted a search of the vehicle resulting in the recovery of over 1.9 lbs. of methamphetamine. The driver claimed ownership to the methamphetamine and stated it was intended for distribution throughout Bay County.
Investigators arrested the driver of the vehicle, Curtis Strong, age 38, of Pensacola, Florida, for the offense of Trafficking in Methamphetamine (more than 400 grams) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
