DOTHAN:    As these men and women seek election to or re-election to Dothan Mayor and Dothan City Commissioners, MAKE THEM ANSWER with a truthful answer with no wiggle room some questions:

(1) A media agency, not me but a TV Station, has asked the City of Dothan Public Relations Guru about why the City of Dothan does not have a power outage map.

The media agency told Vincent Vincent, Dothan's Media Guru, they requested access to a power outage map for the City of Dothan. All of the area power provides, Wiregrass Electric, Alabama Power, Covington Electric have them. These are extremely helpful to the media when identifying the power outages.

Vincent Vincent, only the messenger and not the decision maker, basically says because Billy Mayes, the Electrical Superintendent does not want the media to have it.

Well Billy, that answer is not acceptable. It is paid for by the citizens, the other providers have it, so Mayor and Commissioners, why?

(2) A media agency, not me but a TV Station, has asked the City of Dothan Public Relations Guru about access to the City of Dothan cameras around town. They have access to ALDOT cameras signed off by the Governor of the State of Alabama. Why can not there be access to the cameras in the City of Dothan.

Again, Vincent Vincent is the messenger and not the decision maker. But no sufficient answer is given.

(3) The current Dothan IT Director, Jack Mason, is allowed to live in another state. He knows zero about Public Safety. The City of Dothan had a different standard for the former IT Director that lived in Slocomb. How can the City of Dothan allow Mason to live in another state when they would not let Stewart live in Slocomb? And why is Jack Mason still employed with Dothan? If department heads were honest they would tell you Mason is out of his league.

(4) When Dennis Rubin was Dothan City Manager and was leaving Dothan, he told the Dothan City Commission they owed him $ 15,000.00 for vacation time. They refused. Well the City Manager could spend up to $ 7,500.00 without the approval of the commission.

That expenditure of $ 7,500.00 could be 400 times a day as long as one expense did not exceed $ 7,500.00. So Rubin had the finance director write him two $ 7,500.00 checks so he could get his $ 15,000.00.

Then the Dothan Commission raised the City Manager's authority to $ 15,000.00 expenditures without the approval of the Commission. SOUNDS NORMAL! And that is the City Manager can spend $ 15,000.00 with the approval of anyone 400 times a day if he or she wants to.

What kind of procedure is in place to make those expenditures known to the citizens?

(5) The State of Alabama has "open checkbook". Why does the City of Dothan not have the "open checkbook"?
