Today I placed this red, white and blue floral arrangement at the Angel Of Hope for Commander David Peter Tedin who was called Home on January 2, 1996 after a courageous battle fighting cancer.

I didn’t know David as much as I would have liked to have known him but his wife Regina Bounds Tedin and I grew up across the street from one another on Cynthia Drive when we were both only a year old up until our college days.

Regina was always like the sister I never had...our birthdays only 13 days apart and just like sisters and brothers we had our share of quarrels but I always loved her like a sister.

Sixty three years later...I still love her like a sister.

Regina there’s a reason I placed flowers at the Angel Of Hope today.......

This past Saturday I went to Memory Hill Cemetery to place flowers on my best friend’s resting place..Sam Hathcock.

As I was in my truck leaving I noticed this beautiful tall monument close to Sam.

I stopped and noticed on the top of it just under the cross..Tedin was inscribed in the stone.

I knew it had to be David’s.

I walked up to it and just stood there thinking back to the days when I saw David...thinking of all the wonderful things David’s co-workers at Farley Nuclear Plant told me about him.

It’s been 25 years since David was called Home but even after 25 years his co-workers still talk about David and how much they thought of him.

Standing there I thought to myself...I’m going to place flowers with an American Flag at the Angel Of Hope for this wonderful man who served as Commander in the US Navy...for this loving husband and father.

David and Regina have 2 beautiful daughters..Kelsey and Callyn.

Those 2 beautiful little girls sitting with their Dad ( you can look at David in the picture and tell just how proud he is to be their father ) are now married with their own children.

Kelsey Tedin Steensland is a local Anesthesiologist and Callyn Tedin LeCroy is a Dentist in Alabaster.

I know you will all agree with me when I say..David is smiling from above with that very same proud Dad look on his face just like you see in these pictures.

David and Regina you have so much to be proud of...beautiful children...beautiful grandchildren.

Commander David Tedin..thank you so much for your dedicated service to our country helping to defend and to protect it.

From one Dad to another... GREAT JOB DAVID
I Salute You!!

You are loved and missed every day my friend
