Washington County, FL: A report of a possible argument and gunshot ended in the arrest of a Chipley woman on felony charges.
January 20, 2021, WCSO deputies responded to the area of Orange Hill Rd. and Quail Hollow in reference to a gunshot. Upon arrival, a vehicle was located unattended and containing firearms.
As deputies continue the investigation a female identified as 45-year-old, Michelle Dawn Raybourne of Chipley, approached the vehicle. As deputies spoke with Raybourne, she stated her, and the driver of the vehicle were on the property to track a deer. At that time, Raybourne was on probation and detained for further investigation.
Under a tree directly beside the vehicle, deputies observed a sunglasses case which contained a small bag of methamphetamine and several illegal items with methamphetamine residue. Camera footage places Raybourne in the area and trying to conceal the items where they were found. The driver of the vehicle stated that the sunglasses case and contents belong to Raybourne. Deputies also discovered a spent shell casing and witnesses confirmed the driver took a shot at a deer. Florida Fish & Wildlife Commission was contacted for the wildlife violation.
Raybourne was arrested and booked into the Washington County Jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and tampering with evidence by attempting to conceal narcotics.
