POLK COUNTY FL: About two hours ago ( 3:59 PM CST ) Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd briefs the media about a firearm death investigation.
As I watched the Sheriff explain what happened, why the primary responding officer did not find anything, and the "we did not see anything", I felt this is something people need to hear.
In Dothan, Houston County and the wiregrass area law enforcement hear the same thing. They respond to someone shot, and hear " I did not see anything", "I know nothing".
The primary responding unit had no reason to look behind the trailer for the firearm assault victim. When he asked the people present they pretended they have seen nothing.
Then the investigators have to sort out details and figure truth from fiction.
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd also does a great job in explaining why the call dispatched is often times not the final results of the call.
When you ask why details change or details are slow to emerge, this is a great example.
Polk County Florida is not near Alabama. But it is a great example of what our law enforcement encounter here.
