An intense squall line is expected to develop west of the region tonight and race toward the region on Saturday morning. The squall line will move through the region during the daytime hours. There is an enhanced risk (3 out of 5) for severe weather across Southeast Alabama and the Florida Panhandle. A slight risk (2 out of 5) for severe weather is in place further east.
An intense squall line will develop west of the region tonight and race toward Southeast Alabama and the Florida Panhandle by daybreak. This squall line will have the potential to produce winds in excess of 70 mph, tornadoes, and hail. The wind threat could be especially significant across Southeast Alabama and the Florida Panhandle. These storms will move quickly through the region, and likely move east of Interstate 75 by late afternoon.
Heavy rainfall will also accompany this system, creating a risk for flash flooding, especially in areas that received heavy rainfall on Friday.
