SKIPPERVILLE: Ozark - Dale County 911 dispatched law enforcement officers at 10:54 PM to 6859 County Road 33 in Skipperville. The call dispatched was to a gunshot victim.
The victim is reported to have been shot in the chest. Life Flight was launched buut later cancelled.
On arrival of the first units no victim was found. Shortly after law enforcement units arrived the victim returned to the scene with a gunshot wound to the hand.
The gunshot injuries are reported to be non life threatening.
Assisting Dale County Sheriff Wally Olson and Dale County Sheriff Chief Deputy Mason Bynum and members of the Ozark Police Chief Marlos Walker and Lt. Michael Bryan. Their assistance was tremendous to the Sheriff Department.
The Law Enforcement K-9. now he was the hero. The K-9 tracked the suspect and allowed the two legged law enforcement officers to take the suspect into custody.
The suspect will be transported to Dale County Jail and investigators will conduct interrogation of him and all witnesses.
As in all major cases, 33rd Judicial Circuit ( Dale and Geneva County ) District Attorney Kirke Adams is notified and consulted on these cases as the investigation develops.
GREAT JOB to Dale County Sheriff Department, Ozark Police, Ozark EMS, 33rd Judicial Circuit District Attorney Office. Most especially to the Dale County Sheriff K-9. He did his job and tracked the suspect down.
