Geneva County - Around 1230 this afternoon Slocomb Fire Chief Kyle Hovey came across the radio advising 34 Central that he was on scene of a motorcycle accident on Co Rd 49 and County Rd 60. This is just North of Fadette in Geneva County.
Slocomb Rescue 4, Fadette Fire Engine, Geneva County Sheriff Deputies, Alabama State Trooper Spencer Adkinson, and Geneva County EMA Director Brian Smith all responded to the scene.
Driver of the motorcycle was from Florida and unfamiliar with Co Rd 49. If you have ever driven 49 South to Florida you are very familiar with just how curvy that road is. The driver stated he was going to fast for the curve and just ran off into the ditch.
Life Flight was auto launched due to it being a motorcycle accident, however Chief Hovey cancelled them. He advised the patient was stable enough to be transported by ground.
Slocomb Rescue transported the patient to the hospital.
Trooper Adkinson investigated the accident
