The month of May is Small Business Month, and RSN is spotlighting those who deserve recognition during this special time.

One local business that deserves recognition is Goat Wingz Food Truck.

Owner Marquez White opened his business that was first known as MealzonWheelz Food Truck in October of 2019; it was later rebranded and named Goat Wingz Food Truck in April of 2020; this is their 4th year of business in the Wiregrass.

Goat Wingz brings a youthful, vibrant, and organic environment to the community according to White.

He said it took grit, determination, and the support of his community to get it started.

When asked what advice he would give to someone interested in starting a local small business, White said it is important to just get started. As an entrepreneur, you will learn over and over again that your biggest lessons will come from trial and error; it is important to not be afraid to fail.

White wants everyone to know that although they are a small-business food truck, the business is quickly growing, and he welcomes an inclusive and diverse environment for his customers as well as the staff.

When asked what the most-sold item on the menu is, White said the honey lemon wings and goat fries are at the top as the most popular.

He came up with his business name as GOAT being an acronym for “greatest of all time;” he believes his wings are just that and strives to be the best around.

Different flavors of wings are as follows: mild, hot, lemon pepper, Carolina gold, garlic parmesan, sweet teriyaki, Caribbean jerk, honey lemon pepper, habanero, mango habanero, mild lemon pepper, hot lemon pepper, and Carolina gold lemon pepper.

White offers a variety of combo options from a six-piece wing order to a one-hundred-piece wing platter; he also serves okra, drinks, and large orders of fries (regular or Cajun ranch).

“Coming together is a beginning, keeping together is progress, and working together is success,” White says is his business motto.

This amazing food truck does not have a set physical address because it moves around, but White said the best way for his customers to find out the location of the day is to follow his Facebook business page by searching for Goat Wingz Food Truck.  They list their hours and locations on the page.

If you are in the mood for wings or some mouth-watering fries, stop by Goat Wingz Food Truck to satisfy your cravings. You will be supporting an amazing local small business in the process.
