DOTHAN: This morning a Nissan SUV was stolen. The place stolen was in the county.This afternoon a neighbor spotted the suspect vehicle and called 911.
Dothan Police intercepted the vehicle. Dothan Police gave chase of the vehicle. The suspect attempted to strike at least three Dothan Police Officers, almost striking some head on.
Dothan Police was able to spike strips and the suspect ran over the spike strips and busted car tires. The vehicle came to rest at East Main and South Saint Andrews Street, facing east in the west bound lane.
Dothan Police apprehended two suspects, a male and a female, the driver, a white male, fled on foot running from the police. Dothan Police gave chase and somewhere behind the Wiregrass Museum of Arts took the driver, the third suspect, into custody.
This case is a joint investigation of Dothan Police and Houston County Sheriff Department.
The car is stolen in the county so the theft is investigated by Sgt. Frank Bissette of Houston County Sheriff Department. Currently all three suspects are in the Criminal Investigation Division being questioned and charges pending.
The chase, reckless endangerment, possible attempted murder cases will be investigated by Dothan Police Department. So when Houston County completes their findings then Dothan Police Criminal Investigation Division will begin their investigation.
Following the joint investigations the trio will possibly be placed in the Houston County Jail.
First - great job to the neighbor who spotted the stolen vehicle of his neighbor and called 911.
Second - great job to the Dothan Police Department for the management of the chase and apprehension following a foot chase.
Third - great job to Houston County Sheriff Department for their assistance to Dothan and then taking custody for the investigation.
