Dothan - At 7:30pm Dothan Communication dispatched multiple Engines, Truck 3, Battalion 2, Rehab 2, Pilchers and Dothan Police to a structure fire at 3100 Foxridge Rd. Engine 6, Captain Andy Hovey and crew, arrived on scene to find a 3 story residence with smoke coming out the front door. Engine 6 advised they had a fire hydrant in the front yard and they were going interior as fire attack. Engine 3, Captain Dusty Trawick and crew, arrived to be the incident safety officer and Rapid Intervention Team, Engine 6's backup. Battalion 2 Chief Thomas Groomes arrived and commanded the scene. Truck 3, Sergeant Liddell and company, arrived and handled search and rescue getting an "all clear" of the residence. Engine 9, Sergeant Barry Hicks and crew, assisted fire attack crew. The fire was located in the back corner of the house and due to the distance from the engine to the fire, crews had to add additional fire hose to the line already connected to engine. Within the matter of minutes of arriving on scene fire attack crew had "water on fire'" and "fire knock down". Crews began the process of a secondary search of all the floors clearing them one at a time. "Under Control" was confirmed by fire attack crew. Dothan Utilities was contacted to respond to the scene but due to all the outages from the recent thunderstorm was delayed. Crews began to start ventilating with a battery operated positive pressure fan to remove the smoke from each floor. Chief Groomes request that a fire prevention officer respond to investigate the fire. No injuries were reported with this incident.
