Structure Fire in Elba with Mutual aid From Enterprise Fire today

Incident: Residential Structure Fire
Location: Highway 87 at County Road 403
Date: April 10, 2024
This morning at approximately 10:50 a.m. Elba Fire Department, Elba Police, and Enterprise Rescue Inc. were dispatched to a residential structure fire on Highway 87 South of Elba. Engine 3 reported a heavy column of smoke visible and mutual aid was requested from New Brockton Volunteer Fire Department, Enterprise Fire Department, and Fort Novosel Fire and Emergency Services for additional manpower. Engine 3 arrived to find a single story brick structure with heavy smoke showing throughout and fire coming from one half of the structure. Engine 3 caught a hydrant on the way in to establish their own water supply and performed a transitional fire attack. Utilizing the abundance of manpower available many crews were rotated in for fire attack. The fire was extinguished without incident and no injuries were reported.
Our dispatchers at 19 Central did a fantastic job of handling the communications for this incident and we greatly appreciate their assistance.
