DOTHAN, Alabama, October 17, 2019: In the interest of celebrating all-things fall in a safe and
family-friendly environment, Sunset Memorial Park is proud to host its first-ever Trunk or Treat Fall Festival
on Thursday, October 31 from 5-8 PM. Owners Toni and Robert Byrd invite all Wiregrass families to Sunset
Memorial Park for a night of free fun, complete with games, animals, and of course, plenty of candy.
They also encourage families to bring their favorite four-legged friends along (on leashes) as there will be a
pet costume contest beginning at 7 pm. In addition, Sunset is accepting cash and pet food donations for the
Dothan Animal Shelter and will match whatever is donated, pound for pound. Animals available for adoption
will be on hand as well.
The night also includes Ernie’s hot dogs, boiled peanuts and cotton candy as well as inflatables and games.
A camel and zebra will also make an appearance, compliments of Flying Pigs Petting Zoo from Ashford.
A Trunk or Treat area is planned where guests can visit different local businesses set up with decorated
trunks and plenty of treats. Businesses are encouraged to reserve their spot by Monday,
October 28 by calling 334.983.6604.
"We love all the excitement this time of the year brings and wanted to do something for families. We think it’s
very important to offer the community a safe place to enjoy the activities,” says Robert Byrd.
