ALABAMA: Tuesday March 3, 2020 is election day. It is the primary election for both the Democratic Party and Republican Party.

Last week RSN and WTVY spoke with Houston County Circuit Clerk Carla Woodall concerning the election. If you have not registered to vote that deadline has passed for the March 3rd election. It has not passed for the March 31 runoff election.

On March 3rd the registered voters across Alabama will go to the polls, open 7 AM to 7 PM, and cast their vote for the candidate of their choice. The March 3rd election, a person voting must ask for the Democratic Ballot or Republican Ballot. You can not vote in the March 3rd election for both Democrats and Republicans.

Whichever ballot you cast on March 3rd, if there is a run off for March 31, you must vote the same ballot, Democrat or Republican. Cross over voting is not allowed in the primary election.

In the November election you can vote either Democrat or Republican. But some races will be over on March 3rd.

HOUSTON COUNTY SCHOOL SUPERINTENDENT

This race involves only the registered voters which live "outside" the corporate city limits of Dothan. It includes all registered voters in the incorporated and unincorporated areas of Houston County, except the registered voters inside the city limits of Dothan.

There are only two candidates, Incumbent School Superintendent David Sewell and challenger Brandy White.

With only two Republican candidates, that race is over on March 3rd totally.

UNITED STATES REPRESENTATIVE

This is the seat that Incumbent Martha Roby is vacating. Several in this race to include Dothan businessman Jeff Coleman, Former Alabama Attorney General Troy King, Former Alabama State Representative Barry Moore, Prattville Businesswoman Jennifer Taylor and others. This race will be over as to the Republican Primary on March 3rd if a candidate receives 50.1% of the votes. If not there will be a run off on March 31.

Whoever wins will face any Democrat candidate. But Alabama holds close to the Republican line so the winner on March 3 or March 31 will probably go onto victory in November.

UNITED STATES SENATOR

This is the race where Incumbent U.S. Senator Doug Jones is Senator. Jones is a Democrat who defeated Former Alabama Supreme Court Justice Roy Moore.

This is the Senate seated vacated by United States Senator Jeff Sessions.

Seeking election as Republican are Tommy Tuberville, Bradley Brynes and Jeff Sessions.

Whoever wins on March 3rd, or run off March 31, will face David Jones in the November General election.

ELECTION MARCH 3

The day is creeping up fast. A very important election. The United States Representative race covers 16 counties. Some of those counties include Houston, Henry, Dale, Barbour, Russell, Lee onto Montgomery, Autauga, Pike, Covington, Coffee Counties. As I have "heard" some 600,000 registered voters in the district.

The United States Senate covers a large territory.

So huge elections.

Same as Houston County School Superintendent race. It will be over on March 3rd. Whoever gets the majority vote has no General Election opposition.
