Planning to travel abroad? Need a passport? The Dothan Houston County Library System will host a Passport Fair from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 12th at the Westgate Branch.
“Passports are a relatively non-traditional, innovative service for a public library," said Library Director Chris Warren, “but it’s also another way for us to connect people to a world of information and ideas that you can only experience through international travel. We also recognize that many people hope that the end of the pandemic will end soon, and we know that many people are eager to travel again.”
Attendees will be able to apply for a passport or renew their existing ones. No appointments necessary!
Individuals must provide the following:
--Proof of U.S. citizenship: certified birth certificate, previous passport, consular report of birth abroad or certificate of naturalization/citizenship.
--Proof of identification: valid driver’s license (plus a second ID if issued in a different state), previous U.S. passport or passport card, certificate of naturalization, military ID card or government ID card.
--One color passport photograph 2x2 inches in size.
Adult passports cost $110 and child passports cost $80, each with an additional $35 execution fee.
Photos may be taken on site for $15.
For more information about applying for a passport, specific forms, fees, and required identification can be found on the library’s website at: www.dhcls.org/passports.
