The Two Became One - Congratulations To John Curtis and Lindsay

DOTHAN:     When getting married two shall become one.

Today John Curtis Stokes and Lindsay Jernigan became one. Congratulations to both on their wedding day.

In a romantic moment between Just John Curtis and Lindsay at the Covered Bridge, they exchanged rings placing on each other’s fingers, saying their own chosen vows to each other.

We are super excited to have Lindsey as part of our family and extremely proud of our son John Curtis in the man he has become, and the lady he has chosen to be his wife.

So allow me to introduce to you...

Mr. and Mrs. John Curtis Stokes   

John Curtis and Lindsay have worked extremely hard for months saving up for an enlopement/marriage/honeymoon. They have worked and saved for the trip and every detail was planned out.

They were to leave on March 27.

As obstacles came up they navigated around those obstacles. On March 13 Alabama Governor Kay Ivey announced the first COVID-19 in Alabama. As the nation pandemic grew, each day John Curtis and Lindsay’s year’s worth of plans and details were being rapidly changed.

As March 27 inched it’s way forward it became obvious the trip and wedding they had planned could not happen.

A bridesmaid party was cancelled because it exceeded the allowable amount of people. The wedding was thought to be in a garden but it would exceed the allowable amount of people.

But one thing John Curtis and Lindsay was determined was, the date they planned to get married on would go on, regardless.

This week John Curtis looked at places to carry his bridge to be where they could exchange rings, vows, reflect on their love for each other, and the two become one.

Once he made the decision, and he would not tell Lindsay where, they took the ride and spent the morning together.

While disappointed their plans had to be cancelled, the one thing that is now a reality, John Curtis and Lindsay Jernigan are husband and wife.

The trip and bridesmaid shower will happen when COVID-19 is over. I laughed and told Lindsay, you are detailed, plan and look at everything. You have taught John Curtis, plan the details.

But he has his dad’s blood in him, which is plan nothing and fly by the seat of your pants.

Went from calm, to a national pandemic of COVID-19, a order from the Alabama Governor to "stay at home", no trips, no out of the country trips, that caused them to fly by the seat of their pants.

But they are excited and about becoming man and wife. 

Welcome to the family, Lindsay. We love both of you and super excited to have you as part of the family.
