GULF BREEZE, Fla. -- A barge has struck Three Mile Bridge Tuesday morning as Hurricane Sally continues to approach the Gulf Coast, according to the City of Gulf Breeze.
The bridge was closed by authorities just before 9 a.m. "The bridge is closed until the end of the Hurricane event and storms," the City of Gulf Breeze says in a Facebook post. FDOT is sending a team to assess the damage.
Senator Doug Broxson tells Channel 3 it's one of the contractors' barges that hit the bridge.
We have since learned part of the bridge has spit and left a section missing.
