Resurfacing project on Alabama Highway 52 to begin Thursday


 


MONTGOMERY, Ala. – On Thursday, April 2, weather permitting, an Alabama Department of Transportation resurfacing project on Alabama Highway 52, will begin.   


  


The project will begin at the intersection of U.S. Highway 331 in Opp and end at the intersection of Harvest Time Road, west of Samson. 


 


In addition to resurfacing, shoulders will be widened to two feet. 


 


Motorists should anticipate delays and be alert when driving through a construction zone.   


 


ALDOT awarded the project to Wiregrass Construction Company, Inc., out of Dothan, at a cost of $4,470,591.36. The project is expected to be completed Fall 2020.   


 


ALDOT’s mission is to provide a safe, efficient, environmentally sound transportation network across Alabama.
