HOLMAS COUNTY: On October 5, a deputy with the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop at the Tom Thumb in Ponce de Leon. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Ashley Hardee of Freeport.
Upon the conclusion of the stop, the deputy obtained consent from the occupants to search the vehicle. During the search, the deputy discovered a glass pipe and a small baggie of methamphetamine in a bag belonging to Ms. Hardee.
A backseat passenger identified as Cody Tullis of Ponce de Leon consented to a search of his person. The deputy recovered a baggie of crushed pills and a glass pipe containing methamphetamine residue in the pocket of Tullis’s shorts. When the items were found, Tullis began actively resisting arrest. An additional deputy assisted in restraining Tullis; at which time he became compliant with the deputy’s directions.
Tullis informed deputies that the crushed pills were Xanax. He was arrested and charged with possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia, and resisting arrest without violence.
Ashley Hardee was also taken into custody and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
