TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO DRUGS AND A GUN

PONCE DE LEON - On April 10, 2021, a deputy stopped a Chevy Trailblazer on Hwy 81 being driven by Jeffrey Gray from Ponce de Leon.
While checking Gray’s license, K9 Highway was used to conduct a free air sniff of the exterior of the vehicle, during which he alerted to the presence of illegal narcotics.
A search of the vehicle was conducted, resulting in deputies locating methamphetamine, marijuana, and hydrocodone pills all in a camouflage bag. Also located was drug paraphernalia such as a spoon and syringes along with a .22cal pistol.
A computer check revealed Gray’s license were suspended and that he was a convicted felon.
Gray was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of hydrocodone, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a firearm by convicted felon.
