Traffic Stop Yields Drug Arrests

Bonifay Fl:On March 3, 2021, a traffic stop was conducted in the area of Hwy 79 and Hwy 160. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Marianne Coach 31 years old from Hartford, Alabama.
While conducting the traffic stop permission to search was obtained and a search of the vehicle revealed a plastic baggy containing meth in a pocket of a black jacket.
Coach stated the jacket belong to her, but the drugs belong to her friend. Coach was placed under arrest and charged with possession of methamphetamine.
New Hope—On March 3, 2021, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on CR 179-A north of Hwy 2.
The driver was identified as Randall Lee Thames Jr 36 years of age from Samson, Alabama. Mr. Thames stated that he did not have a valid license which was confirmed through dispatch.
The deputy had Thames step out of the vehicle and observed a plastic baggy in his hand. The deputy attempted to take Thames into custody, and he snatched away and attempted to flee. Thames attempted to destroy the evidence by tearing open the bag.
Thames was eventually taken into custody and charged with possession of methamphetamine, driving while license suspended, tampering with evidence, and resisting arrest without violence.
