On Thursday, August 22, 2019 a member of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office was observing traffic in the area of Hwy 69 near Providence Church Road in Grand Ridge, FL when he observed a black in color Camaro traveling East on Reddoch Road approach the intersection of Hwy 69 and Reddoch Road. As the Camaro traveled across Hwy 69 onto Providence Church Road, it was observed that the vehicle did not display a tag.
A traffic stop was initiated on the vehicle and the driver was identified as Steven Christopher Dawson. An investigation into the stop lead to the discovery that Dawson had recently purchased the vehicle and had not yet acquired a tag and or insurance for the vehicle. Dawson was provided a warning for the traffic infraction. Subsequent to the stop, a consensual encounter with Dawson lead to the discovery of a glass smoking pipe containing a quantity of Crystal Methamphetamine. Dawson was arrested and transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.
