Trespassing Call Lands One in Jail

On Tuesday, September 15, 2020, at approximately 9:15 PM, a Deputy with the Uniform Patrol Division responded to a residence in the Grand Ridge community, in reference to a trespass.
The victim had previously advised the suspect, James Etherton, that he was not welcome at the residence and he should not return there. T
he victim had reported prior incidents of Etherton coming to the residence, acting aggressively, and the incidents had become so frequent that the victim requested Deputies perform an extra patrol of the residence.
On this date, Etherton stated that he had come to the residence because he believed he was in a relationship with the victim and he needed to see her. Etherton had previous encounters with Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and was known to carry a firearm.
A search of Etherton’s person revealed he was armed with a revolver, while trespassing on the property. Ehterton was placed under arrest for armed trespassing and transported to Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.
