Tropical Disturbance in Gulf of Mexico already.

A tropical disturbance currently over the Bay of Campeche is likely to form into a tropical depression as it begins to move northward over the next several days. While the center of the storm should remain well to the west of our area, some local impacts are still likely.
Marine and beach conditions are expected to deteriorate as early as Friday as swell arrives, creating hazardous rip currents, rough surf, and building seas.
Heavy rainfall will also be possible from this system as most of the showers and thunderstorms associated with it should extend eastward into our area.
Rainfall totals of 3 to 5 inches is forecast across the area Saturday through Monday, with higher amounts of 5 to 8 inches possible across SE Alabama and the FL Panhandle.
These isolated higher amounts could cause river flooding as well as pockets of flash flooding. The next name on the 2021 Atlantic list is Claudette
